MILITARY DEATHS

The Defense Department last week identified the following American military personnel killed in Afghanistan and Iraq:

James M. Clay, 25, of Mountain Home, Ark.; specialist, Army National Guard. Clay was killed Thursday in a vehicle accident in Iraq’s Anbar province, west of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 153rd Infantry Regiment, 39th Brigade Combat Team in Little Rock, Ark.

Armando A. De La Paz, 21, of Riverside; specialist, Army. De La Paz was killed Thursday when his vehicle overturned in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 29th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Ft. Carson, Colo.

Theron V. Hobbs, 22, of Albany, Ga.; private first class, Army. Hobbs was killed Nov. 6 in a vehicle accident in Kirkuk, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 572nd Engineer Company, 20th Engineer Battalion, 36th Engineer Brigade at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Jose Regalado, 23, of Los Angeles; sergeant, Army. Regalado was one of two soldiers killed Wednesday when a uniformed Iraqi Army soldier approached them and opened fire in Mosul, Iraq, north of Baghdad. Regalado was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Corey M. Shea, 21, of Mansfield, Mass.; specialist, Army. Shea was one of two soldiers killed Wednesday when a uniformed Iraqi Army soldier approached them and opened fire in Mosul, Iraq, north of Baghdad. He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment at Ft. Hood, Texas.

Jonnie L. Stiles, 38, of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; specialist, Army National Guard. Stiles was killed Thursday when a roadside bomb exploded near his Humvee in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, east of Kabul. He was assigned to the 927th Engineer Company, 769th Engineer Battalion in Baton Rouge, La.

Timothy H. Walker, 38, of Franklin, Tenn.; staff sergeant, Army. Walker was killed Nov. 8 when a roadside bomb exploded near his vehicle in Baghdad. He was assigned to the 64th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Ft. Carson, Colo.
