A scapegoat

Re “Time to plot a new course,” editorial, Nov. 13
To lay blame for the failings of the L.A. Unified School District at the feet of Supt. David L. Brewer smacks of scapegoatism. Having had my daughter at one of the “best” charter schools in Los Angeles, and having removed her to a private school, I am convinced that the problem lies with the administrators, teachers and teachers union, who are more concerned about their own fiefdoms than about serving our children.
And lest we forget, the most important component to a successful school system is parents.
