Re “U.S. said to have spied on families, Red Cross,” Oct. 10

After years of President Bush defending his right to eavesdrop on overseas “terrorist” calls to Americans, we learn that that evidently included calls from the very people we sent to the Middle East to protect us -- many who died to protect our right to privacy.

Pillow-talk calls between soldier husbands and wives, boyfriends and girlfriends were being passed among analysts for their amusement. Many of these analysts are fresh out of high school and evidently not well trained. Hopefully this November we will elect someone to the White House whom we can trust to make sure things are as he says they are.
