Pujols drove in his 100th run with a sixth-inning double, becoming only the third player in history to reach the milestone in his first eight seasons. Al Simmons did it his first 11 seasons, and Ted Williams did it his first eight.

* at Houston 6, Pittsburgh 0: Roy Oswalt threw his second straight complete-game shutout and the surging Astros improved to 14-1 in their last 15 games.

* at Atlanta 8, Colorado 4: The Rockies’ fading playoff hopes took another blow when Yunel Escobar’s three-run homer capped a five-run sixth inning as the Braves completed a three-game sweep.

* at Philadelphia 6, Milwaukee 3: Ryan Howard hit his major league-leading 43rd homer and the Phillies pulled to within three games of the East-leading Mets.

* at San Diego 11, San Francisco 3: Adrian Gonzalez homered twice and drove in four runs to set career highs with 31 homers and 103 RBIs. Gonzalez joined Fred McGriff (1991-92) and Phil Nevin (2000-01) as the only players in Padres history with consecutive seasons with 30 homers and 100 RBIs.
