The aunt of Branch Davidian sect leader David Koresh has been indicted on a murder charge in Texas in the stabbing death of her older sister, Koresh’s mother.
The Athens Daily Review and Tyler Morning Telegraph reported that a Henderson County grand jury returned the indictment against 54-year-old Beverly Clark on Tuesday.
Clark is accused in the January death of Bonnie Clark Halderman, 60. Authorities responding to a 911 call found Halderman in Clark’s home near Chandler.
In 1993, Koresh and dozens of followers died when their standoff with authorities ended in a fire that consumed their Waco compound.
