Fairness is a tall order

Re “United is eyeing your wide-body,” April 16

It’s funny, there is all this talk of discrimination toward obese people but no mention of other people who have trouble fitting into a standard seat.

I am 6 foot 8, and it is nearly impossible for me to comfortably fit in a seat. My knees are jammed, and I am forced to shove my legs under the seat or in the aisle, where the flight attendants eagerly bash my limbs with their carts.

I was born tall and cannot choose the length of my legs, yet I am forced to upgrade. In fact, I have to pay more for almost everything that “fits” me (try finding a bed that your feet don’t hang off of).

Where’s the coverage of the seemingly acceptable and universal “tall fee” that is imposed by virtually all businesses?
