Travis Zajac scored at 4:58 of overtime and the New Jersey Devils beat the Carolina Hurricanes, 3-2, on Sunday at Raleigh, N.C., in an Eastern Conference playoff series.

Zach Parise scored for the third straight game and assisted on Zajac’s winner, giving the Devils a 2-1 series lead and helping them bounce back from an overtime loss two nights earlier on home ice.

Parise started the decisive sequence by attempting to throw the puck toward Brian Rolston, but it clicked off the skate of Carolina’s Anton Babchuk and to Zajac in the slot. Cam Ward stopped his wrist shot with his pads, but Zajac followed it by flipping it high past the Carolina goalie for his second career playoff goal.

Philadelphia 6, Pittsburgh 3 -- Jeff Carter and Mike Richards scored in the first six minutes as the host Flyers closed the Penguins’ lead in the series to 2-1.

Vancouver 3, St. Louis 2 -- Steve Bernier broke a tie in the opening minute of the third period with the Canucks’ third power-play goal of the game and Vancouver took a 3-0 lead in the series. David Backes and Andy McDonald scored for the host Blues.
