At 21, Jessy Tzarax is already a veteran furniture dealer, having worked as a teen with his uncle at an antiques mall in Orange. Tzarax recently moved to Los Angeles and opened Danish Modern L.A. in Silver Lake, where, he says, “most of my Craigslist buyers seemed to live.” Don’t let the store’s name fool you: Stock includes not only Scandinavian designs but also antiques, Hollywood Regency pieces and midcentury furniture by such American manufacturers as Widdicomb, Heywood-Wakefield and Glenn of California. Prices for well-restored vintage items are reasonable. Recently a reupholstered Danish sofa was $895, a tubular chrome and glass coffee table was $250, and a ceramic rose chandelier was $125. 3337 1/2 Sunset Blvd., L.A.
