Marlins continue their climb
at Florida 8, Houston 6: Five players had at least one run batted in as the Marlins won their fourth in a row. John Baker had two RBIs, and NL-batting leader Hanley Ramirez had two singles and an RBI to help chase starter Brian Moehler (7-8) after five innings. Florida moved within 3 1/2 games of idle Philadelphia for the East lead.
at St. Louis 4, Cincinnati 1: Colby Rasmus drew a bases-loaded walk in the fifth off Kip Wells (0-3) for the go-ahead run. Reds starter Johnny Cueto injured his left hip running out a grounder in the top of the third and was removed from the game.
at Arizona 7, New York 4: Doug Davis won his third straight decision and Trent Oeltjen hit his third homer in four major league games. Before the game, the Diamondbacks sent center fielder Chris Young to triple-A Reno. Young was hitting .194 in 103 games.
Dodgers 4, at San Francisco 2: Matt Kemp’s three-run double was the key.
