Here’s a late-summer package in prime picnic territory. The Resort at the Mountain, a 300-acre golf and spa resort near Portland, Ore., is offering a Yogi’s Pic-A-Nic Basket package that includes lodging and a choice of three picnic lunches prepared by the resort’s executive chef, starting at $124 per night.
The deal: This offer runs through the end of September. Tax and resort fees are not included, and the package is subject to availability. The resort, on the western slope of Mt. Hood, features a 27-hole golf course and a high-end, full-service spa with seven treatment rooms, sauna, steam room and more. Newly renovated guest rooms have 42-inch plasma TVs and luxury linens. The picnic baskets include fresh fruit and cured meats. In addition, a customized “family” basket includes peanut butter, chips and candy. The “lovers” basket offers chocolate and Champagne.
