Academy Award-winning director Oliver Stone has teamed with Showtime on “Secret History of America,” a 10-part documentary series set to debut in 2010.
Showtime said the project will examine events that were “at the time under-reported but crucially shaped America’s unique and complex history.”
The series will look at topics including President Truman’s decision to drop the atomic bomb on Japan in 1945 and the origins of the Cold War. It also promises to unveil new information about the Kennedy administration and the Vietnam War.
As the show’s creator and executive producer, Stone has been working on the project for nearly two years and will narrate each hourlong episode.
