Christmas giveaway: An article in Monday’s Section A about a Christmas toy party at skid row’s Fred Jordan Mission reported that more than 10,000 children attended the event. More than 10,000 children and parents attended, the mission said. The error was repeated in a Sandy Banks column Tuesday. The article also said that families received frozen turkeys; they were given frozen chickens.

Teachers union lawsuit: An article in Tuesday’s Section A about a teachers union lawsuit over a controversial school reform measure referred to a charter group as Inner City Education Foundation Public Schools. The group is ICEF Public Schools, which was originally known as the Inner City Education Foundation.

Technology for seniors: An article in Sunday’s Business section on high-tech products and services for seniors said Linked Senior, a company that provides MP3 players and content to retirement communities, was launched in June. The company was founded in 2006. The story also said the service was available in 14 retirement communities. It is available in about 30 facilities.

Illinois prison: An article in Wednesday’s Section A about a public hearing on whether to sell an Illinois prison to the federal government for housing detainees from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and other federal inmates said a state advisory commission would not vote on the proposal before Jan. 14. In fact, the panel has until Jan. 14 to make a recommendation to Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn.

Yellow-legged frog: An article in Wednesday’s Section A about a rock-climbing site in Angeles National Forest being closed for another year to protect the yellow-legged frog incorrectly identified the Pacific Crest Trail as the Pacific Coast Trail.

Comics writer: An article on comic-book writer Geoff Johns in Monday’s Calendar section referred to the comic-book character Barry Allen as “the original” DC Comics superhero called the Flash. A character named Jay Garrick was also called the Flash in DC Comics beginning in 1940, 16 years before the more popular Barry Allen character was created.

Seasonal ales: An article in Wednesday’s Food section about seasonal ales incorrectly called the Anchor Brewing Co. the Anchor Steam Brewery.

New York theater: A Quick Takes item in Wednesday’s Calendar section said that Frank Gehry would design a new home in New York for Signature Theatre. The troupe’s name is Signature Theatre Company.
