WORLD BRIEFING / AUSTRALIA
Times Wire Reports
Authorities in storm-battered northeastern Australia are warning residents to beware of crocodiles roaming the floodwaters covering large parts of Queensland.
One reptile was reportedly hit by a car.
“We’ve had sightings of three. . . . I’m not sure if it’s the same crocodile moving around,” Joyce Zahner, acting mayor of the Carpentaria region, told The Australian newspaper.
The paper said several dogs had gone missing.
