A 25-year-old parolee is wanted in connection with the stabbing death of his estranged girlfriend inside her home and in front of their two children, authorities said Friday.

Police are searching for Miguel Alexander Vargas, a parolee who allegedly attacked 23-year-old Annette Angelina Alvarado about 10 p.m. Thursday and then fled in a 2003 white Acura, said Placentia Police Det. Corinne Loomis.

Alvarado suffered multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at Placentia-Linda Hospital, Loomis said. The only witnesses to the attack were the couple’s 5-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter.

“They said, ‘Dad came in and stabbed Mom in the neck,’ ” Loomis said. “Based on what the kids said, there was no discussion or argument.”

The children are with their grandparents, who live at the same Placentia home.

Vargas is considered armed and dangerous and was last seen in the Acura, which has stock alloy wheels, tinted windows and a spoiler and bears the California license plate number 5SFY351.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Placentia police at (714) 993-8151.
