New Jersey’s Vince Carter was ejected for arguing a second-quarter call with referee Derrick Stafford, and Rasheed Wallace didn’t play in the second half after injuring his foot in the first quarter. Detroit’s Richard Hamilton (groin) missed his third straight game, and Antonio McDyess sat out after injuring his ribs Monday in a win over Orlando.

Denver 114, at Toronto 107: Nene scored 21 points and Carmelo Anthony added 20 for the Nuggets. Denver Coach George Karl earned his 900th regular-season victory and is 10th on the career list. Andrea Bargnani scored 26 points and Chris Bosh added 24 points and 11 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough for the Raptors, who have lost 13 of 17.

at Houston 85, Milwaukee 81: Yao Ming had 22 points and 10 rebounds, and Luis Scola added 11 points and 10 boards as the Rockets beat the Bucks for the eighth straight time. The Rockets led by as many as 15 in the first half, but turned stagnant on offense in the second to let the Bucks get back in it. Houston Coach Rick Adelman set no timetable for when 42-year-old center Dikembe Mutombo, who was re-signed this week, would play. “It’ll be good to have him around,” Adelman said. “He adds such quality to our locker room.”

Orlando 113, at Chicago 94: Rashard Lewis set the tone by scoring 16 of his 21 points in the first half and the Magic won for the eighth win in nine games. The Magic led, 33-17, after the first quarter and 65-38 at halftime, with Lewis leading the way. The Bulls were led by Joakim Noah, who had a season-high 19 points and 11 rebounds.
