Lightning strikes and thunderstorms near Cape Canaveral forced NASA to delay the launch of space shuttle Endeavour for a fifth time.

Launch managers halted the countdown minutes before Endeavour and seven astronauts were to blast off for the International Space Station.

Endeavour has been grounded for an entire month, first by leaks, then by storms. If the shuttle isn’t flying soon, it will have to wait until July 26 so Russia can launch supplies to the space station. The shuttle needs to be out of the way so that the cargo ship can dock.

NASA said it would try again Wednesday evening. If that launch is scrubbed too, a final try might come Thursday.
