Marlins parlay five-run inning into 7-4 victory over Brewers

at Florida 7, Milwaukee 4: Hanley Ramirez and Jeremy Hermida had run-scoring singles in a five-run sixth inning in which 11 Marlins batted, the first eight reaching base. Cristhian Martinez (1-1) pitched 1 2/3 innings to earn his first major league win.

at Pittsburgh 8, New York 5: Andy LaRoche drove in three runs, and the Pirates scored five runs in the eighth inning. Adam LaRoche and Jack Wilson had three hits apiece for Pittsburgh. The Mets had been 22-1 when leading after seven innings.

at Houston 4, Colorado 1: Roy Oswalt (2-2) had a season-high eight strikeouts and Carlos Lee hit a two-run home run. Oswalt is 7-1 in 10 starts against the Rockies.

Philadelphia 5, at San Diego 3: Chase Utley and Ryan Howard hit consecutive home runs in the fifth inning to help the Phillies win their fourth game in a row. Adrian Gonzalez hit his major league-leading 21st home run, in the sixth inning, followed by Scott Hairston’s shot that cut the Padres’ deficit to 4-3.

Arizona 3, at Dodgers 2: Rookie Josh Whitesell hit a two-run double and Billy Buckner threw six scoreless innings to lead the Diamondbacks.
