Frustrated in California

Re “A state budget analysis written with crayons,” Column, Feb. 25

James Rainey’s call for nuance from KFI radio fails to recognize that John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou have tapped into a real, profound frustration with California’s government among rational, average American listeners.

To illustrate my point, I am a liberal Democrat -- far from the typical far-right audience they are believed to represent. These two men bring to light many rarely discussed truths about how our local government works to a shocked audience that is rightly spurred to action by this newfound knowledge. Truths about where our money is going. Truths about backroom dealings. And truths about the consequences of the actions of our legislators.

I am outraged that the federal stimulus being provided to my family will be stolen by the state of California. There’s no nuance that can ease that truth.
