If traditional sitcoms are dead, someone needs to tell veteran producer Chuck Lorre.
On Wednesday, CBS and Warner Bros. Television announced an agreement to broadcast three more seasons of “Two and a Half Men” and two more seasons of “The Big Bang Theory,” both under Lorre’s helm.
Currently in its sixth season, “Men,” starring Jon Cryer and Charlie Sheen, is the No. 1 comedy on television. “Big Bang” has grown into a solid hit in its sophomore season.
Lorre, who admits to controlling his two shows to the point of personal exhaustion, said he received the news with “a mixture of elation, unbridled enthusiasm and deep, deep despair.”
“I am micromanaging myself into a coma,” he half-joked. “At some point, I need to get a bumper sticker that says, ‘Delegate or die.’ ”
