A strong, cold area of low pressure from the Gulf of Alaska was expected to drop into the region overnight and throughout today.

Snow levels could drop to 3,000 feet, with 3 to 5 inches possible. Travelers late today along Interstates 5 and 15 should be aware of the potential for hazardous driving conditions, officials said.
Additionally, a high-wind watch was issued for the high desert, including the Antelope Valley, Apple Valley and Lucerne Valley; the mountains of Riverside and San Bernardino counties; and the Coachella Valley.
