While it was interesting reading John Horn’s story about how the creators of the movie “Up” developed the plot of the movie (“Up, Up and Away,” May 10), he missed a very significant element of the production: The costar of the film is an overweight Asian American boy. So in addition to praising the studio for telling the story of a senior citizen (an often overlooked demographic of society), kudos should be given to Disney/Pixar for not shying away from using a person of color -- who also didn’t fit the ultra-thin model of attractiveness foisted upon us by the media -- to costar in their big budget film.
