Kevin Garnett hits jumper to beat buzzer in overtime

Boston 107, at New York 105 (OT): Kevin Garnett made a jumper to beat the overtime buzzer, giving the Celtics a victory over the Knicks. Paul Pierce scored a season-high 33 points, and had all of Boston’s points in overtime until the final shot. Two Knicks followed Pierce on the final play, leaving Garnett wide open from the top of the key for his 19-footer.

at Miami 102, New Orleans 101: Dwyane Wade had 31 points, and Udonis Haslem hit a jumper with 15.4 seconds left to lift the Heat past the Hornets. Haslem finished with 14 points off the bench, including both field goals for Miami in the final minute.

Orlando 104, at Toronto 96: Vince Carter scored 24 points, Dwight Howard had 17 points and 12 rebounds and the Magic won its fifth straight game. J.J. Redick had 19 points, Jason Williams had 16 and Rashard Lewis added 11 for the Magic, which has won eight of 10. Chris Bosh scored 22 points, Jose Calderon had 16 and Hedo Turkoglu scored 12 for Toronto, which has lost four of five.

at Phoenix 117, Detroit 91: Amare Stoudemire scored 21 points and Steve Nash added 20 for Phoenix, then sat out the fourth quarter to watch the Suns rout road-weary Detroit for the Pistons’ fifth straight loss. Nash made seven of eight shots and had nine assists. Jason Richardson scored 17 as the Suns (11-3), with six players in double figures, improved to 5-0 at home and tied Atlanta and Orlando for the best record in the young NBA season.
