Re “Bank on students, not execs,” Opinion, Sept. 21

Thank you for publishing this powerful, well-written article by someone who has obviously been through the student loan process.

Molly Claflin is absolutely right that government-guaranteed profits from student loans made by banks to young citizens trying to better educate themselves is yet another example of complete, unmitigated greed within the banking system. Shouldn’t there be a national not-for-profit student loan agency for investing in the future of this country? Or is this expecting too much for banks and investors to be deprived of this profitable loan market?
