A look at USC’s running-game options:
Dillon Baxter, 6-0, 195, Fr.: Multipurpose threat showed flair for the spectacular during spring practice. Suspended for season opener at Hawaii for violating team rules.
Allen Bradford, 6-0, 235, Sr.: Entered training camp No. 1 on the depth chart after rushing for 668 yards and scoring eight touchdowns in 2009.
C.J. Gable, 6-0, 205, Sr.: Appears energized by new coaching staff after being seemingly buried in Pete Carroll’s doghouse last season. Has started 18 games and also returns kickoffs.
Stanley Havili, 6-1, 225, Sr.: The only scholarship fullback on the roster, he is a good blocker, fluid runner and effective pass catcher. Back for his fourth season as the starter.
Curtis McNeal, 5-7, 185, Soph.: Small and shifty but not afraid to run through, and over, tacklers. Must prove his durability.
Marc Tyler, 5-11, 230, Jr.: Finally healthy and lighter after three injury-plagued seasons, he has shown flashes of what made him so highly regarded coming out of high school.
D.J. Morgan, 6-0, 175, Fr.: Will redshirt this season while recovering from knee injury suffered in high school playing for Woodland Hills Taft.
