Let Kathy Ireland host stuff

Share

We’re still talking about: Kathy Ireland.

TV network presidents: We hope you were watching the Oscars pre-show on ABC. Because we want her to host more things. Any things. All things. Thank you.

You might want to talk about: “Greenberg”

Remember how funny Ben Stiller can be? Remember him in “Flirting With Disaster”? Or “There’s Something About Mary?” “Greenberg” could be the best thing he’s done since. It’s a (likely pratfall-free) film from “The Squid and the Whale” writer-director Noah Baumbach about a guy suffering something of a midlife crisis. (Friday)

And then you could talk about: how much goodwill we have left for Jennifer Aniston.

After “Love Happens” and “He’s Just Not That Into You,” to name a few, we might just be out. Her fine work in “The Good Girl” is but a distant memory now, and from the looks of her new romantic action comedy, “The Bounty Hunter,” it could be all downhill from here. (Friday)

Let us all talk about: “Justified”

Best series to happen to FX since “The Shield.” Timothy Olyphant stars as an Elmore Leonard creation, a U.S. Marshal with a 19th century brand of justice. How we love our lawmen with no sense of the law. (Tuesday)

Another good time to talk about: The White Stripes.

And by talk, I mean, blast it loud and proud. Accompanying Jack and Meg White’s first live album is Emmett Malloy’s documentary of the same name, “Under Great White Northern Lights.” Out this week on DVD, the film re-creates the duo’s 2007 Canadian tour, during which they hit all the nation’s provinces, playing venues including arenas, bowling alleys and a boat. (Tuesday)

Will we talk about: the return of “FlashForward”?

The ABC series has been on hiatus since last year and my memory’s cloudy -- and that brings up the question: With “Lost” in the middle of its final season, can we juggle more than one slow-moving mind-bender of a series at a time? Outlook unclear. (Thursday)
