Arts budgets: An article in the April 24 Calendar section about arts-related budget proposals by the city and county of Los Angeles said that Laura Zucker of the Los Angeles County Arts Commission planned to ask supervisors to restore a 10.6% cut to her department’s spending that’s called for in the county chief executive’s proposed budget. Zucker says she does not contest the reduction, which is consistent with proposed cuts to other departments, but plans to discuss where the cuts should be made.
Activision deal: An article in Business on Friday about video game maker Activision Blizzard Inc. signing a deal with Bungie Studios identified a BMO Capital Markets analyst as Evan Williams. His name is Edward Williams.
Oil spill: An article in Friday’s Section A about efforts to fight the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico misspelled the last name of U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Matthew Schofield as Scofield.
Malcolm X gunman: A brief article in Wednesday’s Section A about the parole and release of Thomas Hagan, the only man to admit involvement in the assassination of Malcolm X in 1965, described the location of the slaying as Harlem’s Audubon Ballroom. The ballroom was north of Harlem, in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan.
