Doctors are suffering more than any other professionals, according to an unusual index

Share

Times are tough, and workers in all industries are hurting. But the professionals who are suffering the most are … doctors.

Did this data come from the U.S. Department of Labor? Nope. The American Medical Assn.? Nuh-uh. The outsourcing firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas? No way.

The source of this particular factoid is none other than LeaseTrader.com.

According to the car leasing website, 54% of doctors have used the online service to unload their pricey leases on luxury cars like BMW 7 series vehicles, Mercedes S class sedans and Maseratis. Two years ago, only 34% of physicians were in such financial straits, according to the company.

In a press release, the “experts” at LeaseTrader.com attribute the sharp rise to “the problems facing the nation’s health care situation,” whatever that means.

In case you were wondering, the website said 51% of lawyers were trying to get out of leases on cars worth more than $40,000, along with 43% of realtors, 32% of financial executives and 17% of insurance brokers.
