Teacher’s death: In some editions of the Sept. 28 LATExtra section, a headline and photo caption that accompanied an article about the suicide of Los Angeles Unified School District teacher Rigoberto Ruelas said that Miramonte Elementary School was in South Gate. The school is in the unincorporated Florence-Firestone neighborhood east of South Los Angeles.

Gloria Stuart: The obituary in the Sept. 28 LATExtra section of Gloria Stuart, the actress who became an artist and fine printer, said that her artwork is in the collection of the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, among others. Her work is collected in the Getty Research Institute, not the museum.

“The Madeleine Brand Show”: An article in the Sept. 20 Calendar section about the debut of “The Madeleine Brand Show” on KCRW-FM said that Rick Bayless was among the chefs who had been lined up for the program’s “Five-Minute Meal” segment. Bayless has not been scheduled for an appearance.

Richard Bing: Steve Lopez’s column in the Sept. 12 Section A about 100-year-old retired physician Richard Bing said that Charles Lindbergh had persuaded Bing to move to the U.S. in the 1930s to do heart-related research that might help Lindbergh’s ailing sister. In fact, Lindbergh suggested the research on behalf of his sister-in-law.

Human-powered flight: An article in the Sept. 25 Section A said that a Canadian graduate student had succeeded in making the first human-powered flight. The article should have said that it was the first human-powered flight achieved by flapping wings.

Tim Martin Gleason: An article in the Sept. 26 Arts & Books section about actor Tim Martin Gleason, who plays the Phantom in the “Phantom of the Opera” show that opened last week at the Pantages Theater, said he opened the Las Vegas production of the musical playing the title character. He played Raoul when the Las Vegas “Phantom” opened.

Midterm elections: A graphic accompanying an article in the Sept. 25 Section A about presidential popularity and historical midterm election results said that President Nixon did not run after the 1970 midterms. Nixon ran and won in 1972. The graphic also dated President Truman’s second midterm elections as 1948 — they were in 1950 — and gave his popularity just before those elections, as measured by the Gallup Poll, as 41%. It was 39%.

Charles Lloyd: A review in the Sept. 27 Calendar section of Charles Lloyd’s jazz concert on the night of Sept. 25 at the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center should have noted that the concert was presented as part of the Jazz Bakery Moveable Feast series.
