FAA chief placed on leave after drunk-driving arrest
The head of the Federal Aviation Administration has been placed on administrative leave after his arrest over the weekend for allegedly driving while intoxicated in Virginia, according to the Associated Press.
Randy Babbitt, 65, was arrested by police in Fairfax, Va. Saturday for allegedly driving on the wrong side of the road.
Babbitt cooperated with the arrest and was released on his recognizance after posting a bond, the Fairfax police department said in a release.
The FAA had no immediate comment.
A former pilot for Eastern Airlines for more than 25 years, Babbitt has been the administrator of the FAA since 2009.
