Ford unleashes a new Mustang GT for 2018

Ford has pulled the covers off a new 2018 Ford Mustang GT. Dressed in a color called “Orange Fury,” it’s a beauty.

At a Los Angeles ceremony this week, the company said the 2018 pony car, to go on sale in late 2017, will be powered by Ford’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder-engine as well as the burlier 5.0-liter V8.

It’s mated to a new 10-speed automatic transmission — with paddle shifters — that features quicker shift times and delivers more power to the wheels. Both engines will also be available with manual transmissions.

New suspension components and the optional MagneRide system will help improve handling.

Ford has not announced pricing. The 2017 base GT models start around $35,000.
