Keith Code’s California Superbike School offers free clinic

Motorcycle education guru Keith Code and his California Superbike School are making their first official appearance at this year’s Progressive International Motorcycle Show in Long Beach.

Code and his on-track trainers, who do a bike speed and safety course locally at Willow Springs in the Antelope Valley and on raceways around the U.S., Europe and Australia, have a booth at this year’s motorcycle show.

Using the scientific approach that informs Code’s training, his Code Break column in Motorcyclist magazine, and his “Twist of the Wrist” educational books and videos, the former professional road racer will be using the booth on the main floor to demonstrate some of his many patented motorcycle teaching techniques.

Code has taught thousands of riders, and claims among his current or former students a host of national and international superbike champions, including 2013 AMA Superbike champ, Josh Herrin.

The energetic former racer was cruising the show floor Friday, checking out bikes (his school teaches using BMW S1000RRs) and cheering on the team of Superbike School instructors who were going to run the weekend clinic.

Asked why he had decided to participate in the Long Beach show, the elfin Code said, “Why not? I get a little bored if I’m doing things the same way for too long, so I thought I’d change it up a little.”
