Airplane Repossessor

Share

Have you ever wanted to sneak around private properties like a cat burglar or fly an expensive jet? Then here’s a cool job for you: become an airplane repossessor and watch your dreams take flight!

This job has its fair share of hazards. When you spend your day repossessing the treasured toys of big wigs with even bigger financial problems, expect to encounter some unfriendly backlash.

Nick Popovich, president of Sage-Popovich, Inc., an airplane repossession company in Indiana has attracted a lot of media attention -- including an offer from the Discovery Channel series “Dirty Jobs”-- for all the difficulties he faces as an airplane repo-man.

Popovich has been held at gunpoint by neo-Nazis, arrested, and even flew a repossessed plane safely from Michigan to Chicago with no electricity, according to a recent article from Salon.com.

To be an airplane repo-man, you have to be creative, sneaky and willing to stand up to people at their angriest. You also need to know how to safely navigate a variety of aircraft, including helicopters, jetliners, and 747s.

But it’s all in a day’s work. Repossessing extremely technical and high priced properties, an airplane repossesor can earn six figures or more in a single job. Not a bad haul.
