Irvine-based Gateway, Inc. (NYSE:GTW) today announced that Craig Calle has been appointed to the additional post of vice president and treasurer, effective immediately. He will continue to serve as vice president, finance of the professional and direct segments.

Calle joined Gateway in June 2006 as vice president, finance for the company’s professional and direct segments, overseeing business units that sell to educational institutions, government, businesses and consumers. As Treasurer, his responsibilities will include global treasury, supplier and partner credit relationships, risk management, and consumer and institutional finance.

Calle previously served for nine years as senior vice president-finance and treasurer of Crown Cork & Seal Company, Inc., which he joined in 1991. Since 2000, he has served as chief financial officer or founder of successful early stage, private companies in the broadband wireless equipment (IPWireless, Inc.) and digital media industries.

James F. Stahl, chief engineer and general manager of the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County has announced his retirement effective in early 2007. Stahl is a 37-year employee of the Sanitation Districts who has served for the last six and a half years as chief engineer and general manager. The Sanitation District board of directors has appointed Stephen R. Maguin as the new chief engineer and general manager upon Stahl’s retirement. Maguin is a 35-year employee of the Sanitation Districts who has served for the last six and a half years as assistant chief engineer and assistant general manager.

The Abernathy MacGregor Group, a financial communications firms, announced the opening of an office in San Francisco to be headed by Jerry Giaquinta. Previously, Giaquinta served as a senior corporate communications and marketing executive with Sony Pictures, Silicon Graphics, Tandem Computers, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota. . Most recently, he was president and CEO of The Giaquinta Group. Abernathy MacGregor -- which is based in New York -- has a Los Angeles branch as well.

DPAIR announced Mark Taylor was appointed as the head of its Southern California operations, including Los Angeles, San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino and Bakersfield. Taylor has technical and management experience in electronics, commercial HVAC and data center services. Most recently, Taylor was North America vice president of service at MGE UPS Systems. Phoenix-based DPAIR opened its Los Angeles office in 1985.
