Got the swearing-in day shopping bug after seeing Michelle Obama decked out in Thom Browne, Reed Krakoff and J.Crew this morning? Retailers and other businesses are trying to cash in Barack Obama’s inauguration with themed deals and wacky souvenirs.

On the KarmaLoop website, customers can grab discounted baby-doll dresses, purses and T-shirts with the code Barack13. Ayeshanti.com will ship orders of earrings and notebooks worth more than $30 free with the code INAUG2013.

Scout, a Georgetown-based company that makes travel bags and bins, has a 25%-off deal for the ceremony, accessible with the code DC25.

Avon’s “Inauguration Celebration” deal involves free shipping on any order with the code FLASH13.

For a single class, Fuse Pilates in D.C. is offering a 44% discount to honor Obama, the 44th president. Online registrants are being asked to use the code POTUS44. VIDA Fitness, with locations around the capital, said new members can join for $44 – initiation fees are usually three times that.

Elsewhere, however, merchants inspired by the inauguration are being less bargain-minded and just more bizarre.
