HTC may be the latest company to jump into the 5-inch screen smartphone market, according to a report.

The first pictures of a rumored 5-inch HTC smartphone hit the Web this weekend along with a report that says the phone could arrive on Verizon around Thanksgiving.

The phone is called the HTC DLX -- as in deluxe -- and has a full 1080p HD display, according to Android Central, which got its pictures from an unnamed source.

The phone is believed to have an 8-megapixel rear camera and run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Android Central speculates the DLX uses a 1.5Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor.

Additionally, Android Central says the phone has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage, according to its source.

The HTC DLX also features three physical buttons -- for back, home and recent. Additionally, HTC’s partnership with Beats by Dre carries over onto the DLX, according to Android Central.

If the DLX does come out, it will face off against the Samsung Galaxy Note II, which features a 5.5-inch screen. That phone launches later this week on Sprint.

[For the Record, 6:02 p.m. Oct. 22: An earlier version of this post stated that Samsung was the only company that had sold 5-inch-screen smartphones. LG also has sold 5-inch-screen smartphones.]
