Apple execs topped most CEOs for pay last year
While 2012 may have been a down year for Apple CEO Tim Cook in terms of pay, his chief lieutenants can still boast that they are among the highest paid executives in the country.
According to an analysis by Bloomberg, Apple executives Bob Mansfield, Bruce Sewell, Jeffrey Williams and Peter Oppenheimer rank as four of the five top-paid employees among Standard & Poor’s 500 companies. That puts their pay over most CEOs on that list, according to Bloomberg.

The big winner in that group was Mansfield, senior vice president of technologies, who had previously left the company, but then decided to return following a management shakeup. Mansfield received a pay package worth $85.5 million, primarily in the form of restricted stock units. That put him at second among all S&P; 500 execs, according to Bloomberg.
Sewell, Apple’s general counsel, received a pay package worth $69 million; Williams, senior vice president of operations, $68.7 million; and Oppenheimer, chief financial officer, $68.6 million.
All four ranked higher than Cook, who fell to 1,016 on the list with a pay package worth $4.17 million. Cook had been the highest paid the previous year when he received $378 million in compensation, mostly in stock, after being tapped to replace co-founder Steve Jobs.
