Hot Property: Emily Blunt and John Krasinski continue real estate shake-up
Actors Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are on the move again.
The couple — who have had their rural retreat in Ojai up for sale since November — have put their contemporary-style house in Hollywood Hills West on the market for $8 million.
Set behind gates on more than a third of an acre, the renovated and expanded Midcentury home has walls of floor-to-ceiling windows, brick accents and a reimagined kitchen with Italian cabinetry and a wide center island.
A great room, a media room, an office and a wet bar are contained in more than 4,700 square feet of open-plan space. A free-standing fireplace sits between the living and dining rooms.
Six bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms include a master suite complete with a custom walk-in closet. A soaking tub and marble countertops highlight a spa-like master bathroom.
Sliding glass doors set off the third level open to a rooftop patio with a dining area, lounge and fireplace. A swimming pool, privacy hedges and formal landscaping complete the setting.
The couple bought the house in 2009 for $1.86 million, records show.

Blunt, 32, has starred in such films as “Sicario” (2015), “Edge of Tomorrow” (2014) and “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen” (2011). “The Girl on the Train” and “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” are among her upcoming films.
Krasinski, 36, is known for his role as Jim Halpert on the comedy series “The Office” (2005-13). Last year he appeared in the film “Aloha” with Bradley Cooper, and he can be seen in “13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi,” currently in theaters.
He sees action in the Bird Streets
Stan Lee of Marvel Comics fame started the year with a bang, selling his home in the Bird Streets area of Hollywood Hills West on New Year’s Day for $3.23 million.
The ivy-wrapped traditional-style house, built in 1939, sits on a corner lot and is entered through a garden courtyard.
Nearly 5,000 square feet of white-walled interiors feature a vaulted foyer that opens to a step-down living room with built-in bookshelves and a fireplace. Dark hardwood floors, beamed ceilings and crown molding lend a classic look to the two-story floor plan.
Other common areas include a chandelier-topped dining room, two offices, a breakfast area and a chef’s kitchen with a center island and a pair of wine chillers.
The master bedroom has a fireplace, separate walk-in closets and his-and-hers bathrooms for a total of five bedrooms, six full bathrooms and a powder room.
Outdoors, fenced and hedged grounds contain a trellis-topped patio and a swimming pool. There’s also an outdoor dining area.
Lee bought the house four years ago for $3.4 million, records show.

The 93-year-old Lee saw quite a bit of action in the real estate market last year, buying a new $4.4-million home in Hollywood Hills West and selling another property in the area for $2.8 million.
The comic-book giant is the former president and chairman of Marvel Comics and serves as an executive producer on numerous Marvel films and television series. As a comic-book writer, he co-created such classic superheroes as Iron Man, Spider-Man and Thor.
Entertaining offers in Toluca Lake
“America’s Funniest Home Videos” host Alfonso Ribeiro, who bought a party-ready house in Granada Hills late last year, has put his longtime residence in Toluca Lake on the market for $1.449 million.
The two-story Traditional, built in 1941, sits back from the street behind a white picket fence.
Inside, features include wood and tile floors, detailed molding, a family room and formal living and dining rooms. There are three fireplaces in more than 3,900 square feet of space. The kitchen, featured on an episode of HGTV’s “Kitchen Cousins,” boasts a wide center island, a wine refrigerator and stone countertops.
Five bedrooms and four bathrooms include a master suite complete with vaulted ceilings and a step-up soaking tub. A guest studio adds a full kitchen and another bathroom.
Outdoors, there’s a swimming pool and an above-ground spa. A putting green and a detached two-car garage are also within the hedged and fenced grounds.
Ribeiro, 44, is known for his role as Carlton Banks on the sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.” He began hosting “America’s Funniest Home Videos” last year, taking over for Tom Bergeron.
He bought the house more than a decade ago for $729,000, records show.

Lakers great courts a buyer
Hall of Fame basketball player and Lakers assistant James Worthy has sold a home in Bel-Air for $2.025 million in a deal finalized off-market.
The two-story house in guard-gated Bel-Air Crest originally was listed for sale in September for $2.195 million and was taken off the market in November. Worthy bought the home nearly two decades ago for $945,000, records show.
Within nearly 3,900 square feet of space are an eat-in kitchen, formal living and dining rooms, a wet bar and a media/game room. Cathedral-style ceilings, wood and tile floors and a pair of fireplaces are among the interior details.
A total of four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms includes a master suite with dual vanities and a jetted soaking tub.
French doors open to a paver patio hedged by mature trees. A two-car garage sits off the front of the home.
Worthy, 54, was hired by the Lakers in September to assist the team’s coaching staff in a player development role.
The former No. 1 overall pick out of the University of North Carolina made seven all-star teams and won three NBA titles with the Lakers from 1982 through 1994. He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2003.
He has been a studio analyst for Time Warner Cable SportsNet since 2012.
A trophy with a view
Montecito has long attracted magnates and billionaires, such as noted resident and media mogul Oprah Winfrey.
Now a more than 340-acre trophy property set high atop the Santa Barbara County community in the Santa Ynez Mountain foothills has come on the market at $77 million.
Known as Mar y Cel, meaning “sea and sky” in Spanish, the parcel is one of the last remaining residential sites of its kind where a single estate akin to Hearst Castle in San Simeon or a multi-home enclave could be built.
Early owner Henry E. Bothin, who made his fortune in spice and coffee, discovered natural water caves on the property. He had stonemasons create aqueducts and an array of cascading waterfalls and fountains that flow into reservoirs and pools. Also added was an open-air piazza. The features became known as the Tea Gardens and Tea House.
Views from the more than 10 buildable lots take in the coastline, ocean and outlying islands. Conservation land sits along the back side of the property, assuring that no one can ever build above the site.
