Firestone scion gets her price and more for Pacific Palisades home

Mary Firestone, an actress and great-granddaughter of Harvey S. Firestone, the founder of the Firestone Tire and Rubber Co., has sold her home in Pacific Palisades for $3.79 million, or $325,000 over the asking price.
The two-story traditional, built in 1952 and since updated, has a cozy feel with white-painted beams, built-in nooks and bookshelves, and original alder floors. Redone by interior designer Jeffrey Alan Marks, the country-style kitchen draws the eye with a powder-blue-hued island and matching breakfast table.
The 3,322 square feet of open space includes formal living and dining rooms, a family room, four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. A separate sitting room sits off the master suite.
Outdoors, the fenced and hedged grounds are filled with mature trees and gardens. A second-story deck/patio takes in treetop views.
The house previously changed hands five years ago for $2.15 million, records show.
Tara Rodgers of Gibson International was the listing agent. Jennifer Tucker of Deasy/Penner & Partners represented the buyer.
Firestone has film credits that include “Little Black Book” (2004) and “National Treasure: Book of Secrets” (2007). Last year she appeared in the romantic comedy “Accidental Love” starring Jessica Biel, Tracy Morgan and Jake Gyllenhaal.
