Patrick Peterson, the all-pro defensive back for the Arizona Cardinals, has listed his home in Gilbert, Ariz., for sale at $1.899 million.

The Tuscan-style estate, with hand-painted ceilings, Travertine and marble pillars throughout, features a chef’s kitchen, a dining room, a formal living room, an office, six bedrooms and eight bathrooms in more than 8,300 square feet of living space.

An elaborate wrought iron staircase leads to a finished lower level that has a great room with a 22-foot stone fireplace, a billiards room, a home theater, a wet bar and two additional bedroom suites.

The master suite retreat sports a domed sitting area, a large walk-in closet, a Jacuzzi and a private balcony. A detached guest house offers an additional 1,050 square feet.

Outdoors, the desert grounds center on an expansive patio with a fire pit and barbecue area. A tiered pool and spa with water features and a basketball half court complete the park-like setting.

Peterson, 24, has made three straight trips to the Pro Bowl since being drafted fifth overall by Arizona in 2011. In July, the former LSU Tigers player agreed to a five-year, $70-million extension ($48 million of which is guaranteed) with the Cardinals, making him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL.

Public records show that Peterson paid $1.299 million for the property in August 2011. Chuck Fazio of West USA Realty Revelation is the listing agent.
