Malibu compound sells to Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

OK, so it’s not the six-acre Kennedy compound in Hyannis Port, Mass., but the recently minted Mr. and Mrs. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (think Cheryl Hines) have bought a Malibu compound for $4.995 million.

The fenced property of close to an acre features an East Coast-inspired barn-style main house, a guest house, a pool house, a recording studio, a refrigerated wine shed and mature fruit trees.

There are four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a media room in the 2,959-square-foot main house; a fireplace and another bathroom in the guest house, and a sleeping loft, kitchen and shower in the pool house.

A fire pit, built-in barbecue, a storage barn, expanses of lawn and a two-story tree house complete the grounds.

Attorney-activist-falconer Robert F. Kennedy Jr., 60, and Hines, 48, were married at his family compound in Hyannis Port last month.

She was on “Suburgatory” since it began in 2011 until its recent cancellation and had a more than a decade-long role on “Curb Your Enthusiasm” before that. Hines will star next year in the comedy “Stuck.”

Hat tips goes to Trulia for breaking the news.

Christopher Cortazzo of Coldwell Banker handled the transaction.
