Robert Huizenga sells Los Feliz home for $4.25 million
Dr. Robert Huizenga, a sports physician who became known to “The Biggest Loser” viewers as Dr. H, has sold his home in Los Feliz for $4.25 million.
The cliché that a man’s home is his castle seems particularly apt here. The 1927 Spanish/Mediterranean style two-story, named Casa Domingo, is adorned with many trappings that recall Medieval times. (Yes, someone appears to have had fun decorating this place.)
Original ceiling murals, an elegant ironwork staircase, stained glass, arched windows and Malibu tile are among interior features.
A foyer with a cathedral ceiling open to the second level centers the 5,387 square feet of living space, which include living and family rooms, a formal dining room, a theater, an eat-in kitchen, a library/study, an office, six bedrooms and six bathrooms. There are three fireplaces.
A pair of stone lions sit at one end of the swimming pool. A tennis court, a guesthouse and a three-car garage complete the grounds.
Dr. Huizenga joined the cast of the reality weight-loss show in 2008 and has appeared as a consultant on other TV series. He was a team doctor for the Los Angeles Raiders football team for eight years. The UCLA associate professor operates the exercise-centric Clinic by Dr. H in Malibu.
The property previously sold in 1987 for $800,000.
Sandra Varela Magaly of Coldwell Banker handled the transaction.
