Ron Ely of TV “Tarzan” fame has listed his own little piece of the jungle for sale in Santa Barbara at $5.195 million.
Secreted behind two sets of gates, the 1.5-acre estate has been the actor’s home for nearly three decades. The flat lot is studded with mature trees and palms and contains the main house, a one-bedroom guesthouse, a blue-surface tennis court and a 20-foot-by-50-foot tiled swimming pool.
Built in 1979, the 6,400-square-foot home centers on a formal living room with a marble fireplace and hearth. A family room off the kitchen also has a fireplace.
The ocean-view master suite features dual bathrooms for a total of six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
Ely, 76, starred in “The Aquanauts” (1961), then carved a toehold into television history as the vine-swinging, animal-battling hero of “Tarzan” (1966-68). He performed his own stunts and sustained broken bones and lion bites during the series.
The athletic actor also starred in the movie “Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze” (1975). Last year he was in the TV movie “Expecting Amish.”
