‘Traffic’ writer Stephen Gaghan sells Brentwood home for $5 million
Stephen Gaghan, who has an Oscar for screenwriting, and his fashion designer wife Minnie Mortimer have sold their Brentwood home for $5 million, just a tad above their $4.995 million asking price.
Set on more than an acre, the white-trimmed two-story house looks like it could be located along the Eastern Seaboard with its shingle cladding. The 5,267-square-foot traditional-style house features wood-beam ceilings, a den/office, a corner sun room, a media room, five bedrooms and six bathrooms.
A covered brick patio along the back of the house connects to a balcony by an exterior stairwell.
The city-, mountain- and ocean-view lot also contains a guesthouse and swimming pool with spa.
Gaghan won an Oscar for the screenplay for “Traffic” (2000). He shared a 1997 writing Emmy for “NYPD Blue.” Other screenwriting credits include the 2005 films “Havoc” and “Syriana,” and “Rules of Engagement” (2000).
Mortimer has a line of women’s sportswear.
The property last sold in 2009 for $4.5 million, public records show.
Richard Stearns of Partners Trust was the listing agent. Damon Porter of Dynamic Properties represented the buyer.
