Larry Hagman’s penthouse sells in Santa Monica for $5 million
Actor Larry Hagman’s top-floor penthouse in Santa Monica has sold for $5 million. It was listed at the beginning of the year at $5.2 million.
The two-bedroom, three-bathroom pied-a-terre is in a 10-story building constructed in 1963 and includes 3,029 square feet of living space. The contemporary-style condo has three parking spaces and views of the ocean. Amenities include 24-hour security, a swimming pool and a gym.
Hagman, who died last year at 81, entertained generations of television viewers on “I Dream of Jeannie” (1965-70) and “Dallas” (1978-91). He reprised his role as J.R. Ewing on the current TNT series.
The property last changed hands in 1996 for $1.45 million, public records show.
A sale is pending on the actor’s off-the-grid estate in Ojai. Priced at $6.495 million, the 43-acre mountaintop spread was listed at $11 million in 2009. The compound includes a guesthouse, a separate office, a swimming pool connected to two ponds, a helipad and an avocado grove.
Set behind iron gates, the 17,516-square-foot main house features murals, an indoor pool and spa, seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
