Match Group just added more fish to its sea of singles.

The IAC-owned group, best known for operating IAC’s online dating services such as OKCupid, Tinder, Match.com and Meetic, announced Tuesday it had purchased Canadian online dating service PlentyOfFish for $575 million in cash.

The acquisition expands Match Group’s online dating portfolio and extends its reach into foreign markets. Most of Match Group’s existing services are U.S.-centric, with OKCupid and HowAboutWe headquartered in New York, Match.com in Texas, and Tinder in Los Angeles. Meetic is headquartered in France, and the acquisition of PlentyOfFish gives the group further reach into Britain and Canada, where the service is popular.

According to figures the company released in March, the service has 100 million users worldwide.

Match Group’s chief executive, Sam Yagan, described PlentyOfFish as “one of the most popular mobile dating products in the world,” and said the acquisition will bring “new members into our family of products.”
