Photo gallery: A history of Bolingbrook
Bolingbrook, incorporated in 1965, is relatively young, at least by Chicagoland standards. During that decade, developers started building model homes, attracting new residents with low prices in what was then an area dominated by farmland. The plan worked like a charm, as the village now boasts a population of almost 74,000, making it the second-largest municipality in Will County, behind only Joliet.
