Pop star Jay-Z will bring his art gallery what-is-it project “Picasso Baby” to television audiences with a new documentary airing on HBO starting Friday.

“Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film,” debuting Friday at 11 p.m. on the premium cable channel, chronicles Jay-Z’s six-hour performance at New York’s Pace Gallery in July. The pop-star performed his single “Picasso Baby” and engaged in various sorts of audience interaction during the marathon gallery event.

The documentary is directed by music-video veteran Mark Romanek. The movie will air immediately following Jay-Z’s appearance on Friday’s season closer of “Real Time with Bill Maher.”
