Photos: 2014 Oscar predictions

Four years ago, the Oscar race came down to a dazzling 3-D technological marvel (“Avatar”) versus a harsh but beautifully realized slice of dramatic history (“The Hurt Locker”). This year’s race reveals a similar dynamic between “Gravity” and “12 Years a Slave.” But it’s “American Hustle” - which has fun and crazy hair on its side - that may have the best shot.
