TV ratings: ‘The Voice’ wins key demo, ‘2 Broke Girls’ premiere down

“Knockout Rounds” on “The Voice” helped the show defeat its TV competition Monday night.

The NBC singing show was No. 1 in the key 18-to-49-year-old demographic with a rating of 3.6, according to Nielsen.

The show, which featured Taylor Swift as an advisor to the competing artists, was up 6% from last week. It averaged about 12 million viewers, making it second most watched overall.

Up 8% from last week, “The Blacklist” was the second most watched program in the key demo with a rating of 2.6. The show averaged 9.8 million viewers.

NBC’s Monday night line-up elevated the network to No. 1 in the key demo with a rating of 3.3. The network was second most watched overall with 11.3 million viewers.

On ABC, “Dancing With The Stars” notched a rating of 2.1 in the key demo but took first overall with 13.2 million viewers.

“Castle” rounded out the top five overall most watched programs, averaging 9.7 million viewers. It was up 27% from last week in the key demo with a rating of 1.9.

The network was the most watched of the night with about 12 million viewers. It tied with CBS for second in the key demo with a rating of 2.0.

However, due to local NFL pre-emptions in Dallas, ratings for ABC are inflated.

The season 4 premiere of CBS’ “2 Broke Girls” was third most watched overall in the key demo but dropped 14% from last fall’s premiere. It earned a rating of 2.4 in the key demo and averaged 8.7 million viewers.

“The Millers,” which followed, also fell 14%, hitting its series low with a rating of 1.8 in the key demo.

Also on the network, “Scorpion” earned a rating of 2.2 in the key demo and “NCIS: Los Angeles” earned a rating of 1.6 in the key demo. Both shows tied their series lows in ratings.

Overall, CBS averaged 8.9 million viewers.

Meanwhile, Fox’s “Gotham” dipped just 5% in total viewers, averaging 5.8 million on Monday night. The show tied for fourth with “Scorpion” in the key demo with a rating of 2.2.

“Sleepy Hollow” was also down 11% from last week in the key demo with a rating of 1.6. It averaged 4.7 million viewers, retaining 94% of last week’s audience.

The network was fourth in the key demo and overall with a rating of 1.9 and about 5.3 million viewers.

The CW’s new show “Jane The Virgin” fell 20% from last week with a rating of 0.4 in the key demo. “The Originals” held even with a rating of 0.6 in the key demo.
