Comedian Lisa Lampanelli drops 106 pounds in a year

Comedian Lisa Lampanelli has lost 106 pounds — and no, she didn’t get rid of a skinny best friend.

Lampanelli had gastric-sleeve surgery a year ago in April and has since shed all that weight off her formerly 248-pound frame. (See the before and after in the video above.)

“I feel like I’ve reached the weight I’m supposed to be,” she told InTouch on Thursday. “I’m officially a skinny ...” -- um, let’s say a skinny best friend.

In gastric sleeve surgery, or sleeve gastrectomy, the left side of the stomach is removed, according to the Mayo Clinic, leaving a stomach “about the size and shape of a banana.” In addition to the surgery, which the self-proclaimed “Queen of Mean” said isn’t a miracle cure, Lampanelli credits exercise and portion control.

“I have to figure out my addiction issue and how I even got overweight in the first place,” said the “Celebrity Apprentice” alum.

But it’s not all seriousness. Let’s get real. This woman’s got a sense of humor, after all.

“One of the best parts of losing weight has been the clothing!” Lampanelli told the mag, adding, “I roll up to Macy’s and go to the sales rack and see how much I can get for as little amount of money! It’s almost like a game for me!”

Lampanelli will play two shows June 22 at L.A. Live’s Club Nokia, with other performances scheduled across the country.
